Benches clear between Astros and Rangers after Adolis García is drilled by a Bryan Abreu pitch

Notches fifth save Abreu allowed a hit and a walk while striking out one in a scoreless inning to earn the save in Saturday's 1-0 win over the Diamondbacks.

Impact Abreu has earned three saves and eight holds with a 34:13 K:BB during his 27.2-inning scoreless streak, which dates back to July 18. This was among his shakier outings in that span, but he was able to get the job done. The setup man has a 1.75 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 100:31 K:BB with five saves and 24 holds over 72 innings this season.

Impact Abreu was tasked with closing out the Astros' victory Sunday with Ryan Pressly unavailable. After relieving Hector Neris in the eighth, the 26-year-old Abreu allowed an inherited run to score before working around a pair of walks in the ninth to earn the four-out save. Overall, Abreu's been solid while setting up Pressly this season -- his ERA is down to 2.39 with a 1.16 WHIP and 79:24 K:BB across 52.2 innings.

Impact Abreu was entrusted with closing duties Sunday as Ryan Pressly was likely still recovering from pitching three days in a row (Wednesday thru Friday). It was a drama-free outing for Abreu, who collected his third save of the campaign. He's been busy in July, making 10 appearances spanning 9.1 innings while picking up four holds, a blown save and a win. The setup man has a 2.66 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 71:19 K:BB through 47.1 innings this season, and he's added 17 holds on the year.

Records second save Sunday Abreu picked up the save Sunday during a 5-2 win over Atlanta, recording one walk and one strikeout over a scoreless ninth inning.

Impact Houston took a 5-2 lead in the top of the ninth, and with Ryan Pressly unavailable again, the Astros turned to Abreu for a second straight day. He proceeded to walk the leadoff hitter -- Austin Riley -- and hit the next batter -- Ozzie Albies -- but induced a double play by Eddie Rosario and struck out Sam Hilliard to end the game. It was Abreu's second save in three tries, and he currently has a 0.73 ERA with a 19:6 K:BB through 12.1 innings.
