With the addition of Dansby Swanson this offseason, Madrigal does not have direct path to a starting spot in the infield, though he will likely rotate in and out of the lineup in a variety of spots including designated hitter in 2023.

Impact It seems likely that Tauchman was given an invitation to major-league spring training as part of the deal. The 32-year-old spent 2022 in Korea following a disappointing showing in 2021 with the Yankees and Giants.
