Noelvi Marte - Collects fourth steal Marte went 1-for-4 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Saturday's 8-7 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks.
Impact Marte has seen regular playing time since he was called up a week ago. He's hitting a modest .227 (5-for-22) with two doubles, one RBI and two runs scored, though he's also logged four steals. His speed was on display with 18 thefts over 89 contests in the minors this year prior to his promotion. Marte has mostly played at third base, moving Elly De La Cruz into a more permanent role at shortstop while Matt McLain handles second base.

Impact De La Cruz has done a lot of things since rising to the majors, but he hasn't shown a lot of patience at the plate with a 7.2 percent walk rate and 34.3 percent strikeout rate. The infielder's pair of walks Saturday accounted for just the fourth time he's drawn multiple walks in a game. He's still finding a fair amount of success with a .248/.304/.447 slash line, 22 steals, 11 home runs, 33 RBI and 52 runs scored over his first 69 contests.

Tyler Stephenson - Falls shy of cycle Saturday Stephenson went 3-for-4 with a triple, a double and one RBI in Saturday's 8-7 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks.
Impact Stephenson was a home run shy of the cycle in his first multi-hit effort since Aug. 1. He's hit a paltry .231 (12-for-52) across 18 games this month, slightly worse than his .247 average for the season. The catcher remains the Reds' top option behind the plate with a .700 OPS, 10 home runs, 44 RBI, 50 runs scored, 15 doubles and two triples through 116 contests. He's also been caught on his only attempt to steal a base this season.

Impact McLain got the Reds on the board in the sixth inning with his solo homer, and he tied the game by knocking in a run with a groundout in the ninth. He was again responsible for extending the game in the 10th, though it was because of a fielding error that allowed Arizona to keep a rally alive. He's knocked three homers and added six RBI over his last six games. For the season, the infielder is at a .294/.361/.512 slash line with 16 homers, 14 steals, 50 RBI, 65 runs scored, 23 doubles and four triples through 88 contests.

Lucas Sims - Secures third save Sims struck out two in a perfect inning to earn the save in Saturday's 8-7 extra-innings win over the Diamondbacks.
Impact Sims took care of business in the 11th inning after Alexis Diaz and the Reds' shaky defense combined to blown a save chance in the 10th. This was Sims' third save of the season to go with 21 holds and four blown saves in 53 appearances. He's posted three consecutive scoreless appearances, and he's now at a 3.70 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 63:32 K:BB through 48.2 innings this season. The right-hander remains a solid setup man, but it would take a brutal slump from Diaz for Sims to be considered for closing duties.
