Eduardo Salazar - Outrighted to Triple-A Salazar cleared waivers Sunday and was sent outright to Triple-A Louisville.
Impact Salazar was optioned to Triple-A in early July and lost his spot on the 40-man roster after putting up an 8.24 ERA and 2.40 WHIP through 19.2 innings. Barring a dramatic turnaround in Louisville, there is not much of a chance for Salazar to return to the majors this season.

Impact It was reported earlier in the week that Lively could return when first eligible -- he is eligible to return Aug. 17, but the Reds are off that day, so the first game he could start would be Aug. 18 against Toronto. If Lively pitches in Sunday's game for Louisville, that would line him up to return on Aug. 18 for a start on normal rest. Lively gave up 13 earned runs in his most recent start, and he had a 3.24 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 21 strikeouts in 25 innings in the five starts prior to that blowup outing.

Impact Reds manager David Bell reconfigured the top of the order, dropping Elly De La Cruz to third and putting Friedl atop the lineup, where he primary was from late May to mid-July. Bell told Gordon Wittenmyer of the Cincinnati Enquirer that he plans to "stick with it," referring to the lineup while also saying "nothing's permanent." For now, it looks like Friedl will bat first against right-handers. Cincinnati doesn't face a lefty until Tuesday, when the Reds return home for a series against the Guardians, who are projected to start Logan Allen.
