Impact Encarnacion-Strand propelled the Reds to a lead in the fourth inning with a two-run homer, then extended the lead with run-producing single in the sixth. However, Cincinnati's bullpen coughed up four runs in the final two innings. It was the second home run in three games for Encarnacion-Strand, who is 12-for-37 (.324) over the last 10 games.

Graham Ashcraft - Allows one run over seven frames Ashcraft did not factor into the decision Wednesday, allowing one run on three hits and one walk over seven innings in a 5-4 loss against the Marlins. He struck out seven.
Impact Ashcraft surrendered a leadoff home run to Josh Bell in top of the fourth but was otherwise dominant, allowing only two other hits in the game, which came in the first inning. The right-hander threw 17 first-pitch strikes while it was his third start this season in which he allowed just three hits. Ashcraft has now allowed two earned runs or fewer in eight consecutive starts and has allowed one run or fewer in five of those eight starts. With Thursday's performance he lowered his season ERA to 4.95 and has a 12:3 K:BB through two August starts.

Impact Lively landed on the 15-day injured list a week ago with a right pectoral strain after he was demolished for 13 earned runs over four innings in an ugly loss to the Cubs. It sounds like the injury is relatively minor, though. It's not clear whether he will be asked to make a rehab start before rejoining Cincinnati's active roster.

Weaver is now 2-4 this season with a 6.75 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 78:33 K:BB across 20 starts (93.1 innings) this season. He's currently lined up for a road matchup with the Pirates in his next outing.
