Impact An earlier report indicated India would be activated Tuesday, the first day the infielder is eligible. Reds manager David Bell said there were no setbacks, but the club has scheduled India for additional running and batting practice. The goal is to have India ready for activation Friday, Aug. 11, when Cincinnati kicks off a three-game road series in Pittsburgh.

Impact After coughing up a solo shot to Jorge Soler in the first inning, Williamson locked in and dominated the Marlins. Williamson struck out a career-high nine batters while tying his longest MLB outing. He had a slight hiccup against the Cubs in his last start following a dominant July; The 25-year-old posted a 2.45 ERA in five starts last month but yielded five runs in his most recent appearance. Williamson will carry a 4.54 ERA into his next outing, which is projected to be in Pittsburgh.

Casey Legumina - Activated and optioned The Reds reinstated Legumina (ankle) from the 15-day injured list Monday and optioned him to Triple-A Louisville.

Impact Legumina struck out two over four shutout innings across four appearances between the rookie-level Arizona Complex League and the Triple-A club during his rehab assignment, but the Reds didn't have room from him in the bullpen even though he had moved past a right ankle contusion. He'll stick around in Louisville but should rank near the top of the list for a call-up the next time Cincinnati requires an extra right-handed reliever.

Impact Kennedy will head to the bullpen for the time being and will give the Reds a much-needed fresh arm, though depending on how extensively he's used in the next few days, he could be an option to join the rotation when Cincinnati requires a fifth starter again. The Reds optioned Lyon Richardson to Triple-A in a corresponding move after Richardson was lit up for four runs in three innings ins his big-league debut in Sunday's loss to the Nationals. Kennedy's lone previous appearance with the Reds came back on July 4 -- also against the Nationals -- when he gave up four earned runs on five hits and two walks over five innings.

Impact Following a four-run first inning, Richardson cleaned things up in the next two frames but was pulled after 66 pitches. That number represents 17 more pitches than he had thrown in any start for the organization since May as he continues to work his way back from a lost 2022 due to Tommy John surgery. It is possible the 23-year-old prospect remains in the Reds rotation for now, but he's highly likely to have his pitch count remain limited moving forward.
