Nick Martini - Latches on with Colorado The Rockies signed Martini to a minor-league contract Wednesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Impact Martini managed a .912 OPS in 29 games for the Reds in 2023 and opened 2024 as their primary designated hitter against right-handed pitching, but he fell off to a .641 OPS across 52 contests last season and missed significant time due to thumb surgery. The 34-year-old will compete for a reserve outfielder role in Colorado.

Keston Hiura - Receives NRI from Colorado The Rockies signed Hiura to a minor-league contract Wednesday that includes an invitation to spring training, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Impact Hiura, 28, went 4-for-27 during his brief time with the Angels last season and sported a .943 OPS with 26 homers at the Triple-A level in 2024. It's conceivable that the former top prospect wins an Opening Day roster spot, but Hiura will more likely begin the year at Triple-A Albuquerque.

Impact The financial details of Lawrence's new deal are currently unknown. The 30-year-old righty struggled mightily in 2024, finishing with a 6.49 ERA and 1.78 WHIP over 59.2 innings out of the bullpen. Playing his home games at Coors Field could be partially to blame for his poor performance, but fantasy managers would likely be better off staying away from Lawrence until he proves his solid 2023 campaign wasn't simply an outlier.

Ryan Feltner - Avoids arbitration Feltner agreed to a one-year contract with the Rockies on Thursday to avoid arbitration.
Impact It was the first year of arbitration eligibility for Feltner, who set career highs in 2024 with 30 starts and 162.1 innings. The right-hander had a 4.49 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 138:52 K:BB and should begin 2025 as a back-end starter for the Rockies.

Impact Gomber will more than double his salary from 2024 in what was his third year of arbitration eligibility. The left-hander put up a 4.75 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 116:38 K:BB over a career-high 165 innings for the Rockies in 2024 and will be part of their rotation again in 2025.

Kris Bryant - Pegged for DH, RF duty Rockies general manager Bill Schmidt said last week that Bryant is slated to be used at designated hitter and in right field in 2025, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Impact Schmidt indicated that Bryant could see more of his starts in right field on the road, where he would have less ground to cover than in spacious Coors Field. Bryant is also capable of playing first base, but Michael Toglia is pegged for everyday duty there. It would make sense for the Rockies to use Bryant mostly at DH in an effort to keep him healthy, but Schmidt said of the soon-to-be 33-year-old that "I don't see him strictly as a DH." Bryant has played just 159 games in three seasons for the Rockies, mostly due to back and foot issues, but he is expected to enter spring training healthy.
