Gaining foothold in everyday lineup Noel will start in right field and bat sixth in Wednesday's game against the Yankees. Impact Noel has largely served as a short-side platoon player since getting a call-up to the Guardians in late June, but after slugging three home runs in two games against the Cubs on Aug. 12 and 13, he's been earning more opportunities against right-handed pitching. He's now started in seven of the last eight games overall, facing off versus five right-handed starters during that span. Unfortunately for Noel, he's gone just 2-for-15 with one extra-base hit (a double) since his home-run binge against the Cubs, but the Guardians still seem content to prioritize him in the regular lineup over David Fry, who was on the bench for each of the last three matchups with righties.
