Managing Grade 1 oblique strain Manager Torey Lovullo said Wednesday that Luplow has a Grade 1 strain in his oblique, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
Impact Luplow appeared in six Cactus League games to begin spring training and went 4-for-16 with a home run, two doubles, three RBI, two runs, two walks and two strikeouts. While Lovullo didn't officially rule the outfielder out for Opening Day, the 28-year-old faces a tight timetable with the start of the season just over a week away. The Diamondbacks have several left-handed hitters in the outfield, so Luplow will likely see playing time against right-handed pitchers when he's healthy.

No arbiter necessary Luplow signed a one-year, $1.4 million deal with the Diamondbacks on Tuesday to avoid arbitration, Kiley McDaniel of ESPN.com reports.
