Impact Mateo missed last Friday's game with unspecified soreness, so it's seems possible that the lumbar injury is related to that previous issue. Mateo showed promise during his 32 games with Baltimore to finish his 2021 campaign, going 30-for-107 with seven doubles, one triple, two homers, and five stolen bases. His defensive versatility should help him find a substantial role with the Orioles to begin next season.
