Domingo Tapia - Snares win Monday Tapia (2-0) pitched 1.2 perfect innings, recording one strikeout and earning the win Monday versus Baltimore.
Impact The 30-year-old relieved starter Kris Bubic with one out in the sixth inning and managed to keep Kansas City's deficit to one run. Tapia then picked up the win as the Royals pulled ahead in the eighth inning. He's strung together 5.1 scoreless innings across his last five appearances, allowing two hits and three walks with four strikeouts in that span. For the year, he has a 2.05 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 19:12 K:BB across 22 innings overall.

Adalberto Mondesi - Swipes two bags Monday Mondesi didn't get the start Monday but stole two bases after pinch running for Hunter Dozier in the ninth inning of a 3-2 win over the Orioles.
Impact After Dozier drew a one-out walk, Mondesi replaced him at first base and tried to generate an insurance run with his legs, but Whit Merrifield and Nicky Lopez weren't able to bring him around once he got into scoring position. Mondesi now has six steals in four games since rejoining the Royals' roster at the beginning of the month in addition to going 4-for-13 at the plate with a homer, three RBI and four runs. The 26-year-old may not play every day as Kansas City tries to keep him healthy, but playing time could be the only thing holding him back in September.

Impact His fifth-inning blast off Zac Lowther got the Royals on the board. Alberto only has two homers on the year, with the last coming July 2, and he's started only four of the last 13 games -- a playing time squeeze that likely won't get any better for the 28-year-old now that Adalberto Mondesi is seeing action at third base.

Impact After working two innings in a relief appearance Thursday, it was thought Bubic would have a limited workload in his next start, but the southpaw tossed 95 pitches (61 strikes) before exiting. While he provided a solid line, he was on the hook for his seventh loss before the Royals took their only lead of the game in the eighth inning. Bubic will carry a 5.07 ERA and 95:53 K:BB through 104.2 innings into his next outing.

Impact Starting for the seventh time in nine games, Olivares looks to have settled in as the Royals' primary right fielder over Ryan O'Hearn since being called up from Triple-A Omaha on Aug. 27.
