Freddy Fermin - Logs first career steal Fermin went 1-for-4 with one RBI and a stolen base in Monday's 9-5 loss to the Red Sox. Impact Fermin tied the game at 2-2 with an RBI single in the fourth inning and then logged the first steal of his big-league career. This was his 146th career game, so it's unlikely he becomes a sudden speed threat. He has been hitting well lately, going 17-for-49 (.347) with two home runs, eight RBI and four runs scored over 14 contests since the All-Star break. That has earned him a more regular place in the lineup between catcher and designated hitter. Fermin is at a .304/.352/.429 slash line with six homers, 30 RBI, 10 doubles and 30 runs scored over 245 plate appearances this season, numbers nearly identical to what he posted over 70 games and 235 plate appearances in 2023.
