Fires two-hit gem Scherzer (15-4) allowed just two hits and two walks with seven strikeouts over seven shutout innings, picking up the win in Saturday's 5-1 victory over the Reds. Impact Scherzer was his normal confounding self Saturday, baffling the Reds to the tune of two hits and no runs. While the right-hander's streak of 25 innings without issuing a walk came to an end, the three-time Cy Young Award winner has now gone an astounding 37 innings without allowing an earned run. Scherzer also hasn't allowed a home run since Aug. 21 and hasn't been charged with a loss since May 30. Now might be a good time to remind you that he's doing all of this at the age of 37. Scherzer's next chance to further his incredible run should come Thursday against the Rockies.
