Cam Robinson - Optioned to Nashville Robinson was optioned Monday to Triple-A Nashville by the Brewers, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Impact Robinson was added to the 40-man roster in the offseason to protect him from the Rule 5 draft. The right-hander posted a 2.49 ERA with a strong 84 strikeouts over 65 innings over three different levels. It's easy to see him being an option for the Milwaukee bullpen at some point in 2023.

J.C. Mejía - Reassigned to minors camp Mejia was assigned to minor-league camp Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Impact Mejia was unable to settle in with the Brewers in 2022, as he was knocked around for six runs (five earned) on five hits and five walks while fanning one over two appearances prior to being sent down. However, He'll be a candidate for a mid-season promotion if continues to show good stuff in the minors. Mejia fared much better at Triple-A Nashville in 2022, posting a 2.76 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with a 33:13 K:BB across 29.1 innings.

Janson Junk - Heads to minor-league camp Junk was optioned Monday to Triple-A Nashville by the Brewers, CCurt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Impact Acquired by the Brewers in the Hunter Renfroe deal last winter, Junk allowed six runs in 8.1 innings for the Angels before the deal to post a 6.48 ERA. The right-hander will likely be an up-and-down option for the Brewers in the 2023 season.

Abner Uribe - Optioned to Double-A Uribe was optioned Monday to Double-A Biloxi, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Impact Uribe reached Double-A for two appearances in 2022, and it looks like the right-hander will begin the season in Biloxi in 2023. The right-hander was limited to just those two games because of a torn meniscus in his right knee, but he shows a fastball that can touch triple digits and swing-and-miss slider when healthy. He could be a pen option for the Brewers this summer if healthy.

Robert Gasser - Sent to minor-league camp Gasser was assigned to minor-league camp on Monday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Impact Gasser has yet to make his MLB debut but has been making his way through Milwaukee's farm system, as he was promoted to Triple-A Nashville in August of 2022. He accrued a 4.44 ERA and 1.61 WHIP with a 31:16 K:BB across 26.1 frames with the Sounds and could be a candidate to join the Brewers later on in 2023.

Alex Jackson - Optioned to MiLB camp Jackson was reassigned Monday to minor-league camp, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Impact Jackson spent five games with the Brewers in 2022 and went 3-for-12 with seven strikeouts at the dish. He'll more than likely begin the 2023 campaign at Triple-A Nashville and serve as organizational depth in case either William Contreras or Victor Caratini goes down.

Luke Voit - Has out clause Thursday Voit's minor-league contract with the Brewers contains an out clause that he can exercise Thursday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Impact Voit went 2-for-2 with a walk Monday versus the Reds and is now batting .346/.370/.538 with one home run over 10 Cactus League games. The Brewers surely would like to keep him around, but complicating matters is that Keston Hiura is competing for a similar role and he's out of options. Milwaukee and Voit will have some decisions to make this week.

Garrett Mitchell - Starts running again Mitchell (hamstring) resumed running Monday but isn't expected to return to Cactus League games until this weekend, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports.

Impact The Brewers aren't overly concerned about the right hamstring tightness which forced Mitchell from a game last Thursday. However, he'll receive at least a week off just to be safe. If healthy, Mitchell looks to be the clear favorite to open the season as the Brewers' starting center fielder.

Owen Miller - Angling toward roster spot Miller could be hitting his way onto the Brewers' Opening Day roster this spring, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reports.

Impact Miller has gone 8-for-20 with four doubles during Cactus League play so far. He's also being used some in center field, a position he's never played in pro ball but one he believes he can handle. The Brewers are looking for additional right-handed help in the outfield with Tyrone Taylor (elbow) out a while and Miller certainly would enhance his chances of cracking the Opening Day roster if he can at least be passable out there. The 26-year-old was acquired from the Guardians in December for a player to be named later or cash.

Josh VanMeter - Back in action Sunday VanMeter (lower leg) started at second base and struck out in all three of his plate appearances in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Cubs in Cactus League play.

Impact VanMeter was back in action for the first time since Tuesday after lower left leg tightness kept him sidelined for a few days. The 28-year-old is competing for a spot on the Brewers' Opening Day roster as a utility man, but he hasn't helped his case by slashing .182/.333/.364 over seven games in the Cactus League thus far.

Sal Frelick - Sizzling in WBC Frelick is 7-for-18 (.389) with three doubles, four RBI and a stolen base through four WBC games with the Italian national team.

Impact Frelick hit leadoff in all four games Team Italy participated in during pool play, and his hot bat helped propel his team to the quarterfinals. Although Frelick is away from the Brewers for the time being, his WBC showing has boosted his stock to some degree, and it's not out of the question that he begins the 2023 campaign with the big club.

Aaron Ashby - Ready for flat-ground work Ashby (shoulder) is scheduled to do some flat-ground throwing Wednesday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Impact Ashby is nearing the end of a six-week shutdown period while he works his way back from an impingement and slight labral tear in his left shoulder. The hope is that the southpaw will be ready to rejoin the Brewers around mid-May, although he'll have a lot of boxes to check to make that happen.

Tyler Black - Looks ready for 2023 season Black (thumb) has appeared in five Cactus League games to date and has gone 4-for-6 with two doubles, a walk and two RBI while logging 13 innings at third base.

Impact Black's stint in the Arizona Fall League was cut short when he fractured his left thumb while sliding into a base, but he doesn't look to be under any restrictions in spring training. The 22-year-old saw most of his action between second base and the outfield during his time in the minors in 2022, but the Brewers' decision to deploy him exclusively at the hot corner in spring training could be a sign that he'll settle into a regular spot at third base during the upcoming minor-league campaign. Black is expected to begin the year at either High-A Wisconsin or Double-A Biloxi.

Freddy Zamora - Looks healthy for spring Zamora (undisclosed) made his lone Cactus League appearance back on Feb. 26, playing two innings at shortstop while going 0-for-1 with a strikeout in a 12-6 loss to the Rockies.

Impact Zamora didn't see any minor-league action after May 11 last season due to an unspecified injury, but his brief cameo early in the Cactus League slate is an indication that he's healthy again heading into the 2023 campaign The 24-year-old is likely to report to Double-A Biloxi to open the upcoming season.

Garrett Mitchell - Doing well Mitchell (hamstring) is doing well and should return to the lineup in about a week, Manny Randhawa of MLB.com reports.

Impact Mitchell left Thursday's game against the Giants due to right hamstring tightness, and while the injury will cost him some exhibition games, it looks like his readiness for Opening Day won't be affected. Mitchell hit .311 with eight stolen bases and a pair of home runs in 68 plate appearances as a rookie last year and appears set to open the year as Milwaukee's primary center fielder.

Brandon Woodruff - Sharp in second spring start Woodruff struck out four batters and allowed an unearned run over three innings in Friday's exhibition game.

Impact Woodruff tossed two scoreless frames in his first start of the spring, and he was sharp again in his second trip to the mound. Woodruff already appears ready for the regular season, and he is tentatively lined up to start the Brewers' second game of the campaign, which will come Apr. 1 against the Cubs.

Impact Contreras owns just a .542 OPS through 23 PA this spring, but he did record two multi-hit efforts over his last four appearances. Contreras posted a .670 OPS last spring and still wound up an All-Star, so his slow start should not be any reason for concern.

Impact Turang racked up just a pair of singles over his first four games of the spring, but he got going a bit over the past week. Turang has a case to break camp with the big club, but given the glut of infielders on Milwaukee's 40-man roster, it seems most likely he will begin the season with Triple-A Nashville.

Impact Brosseau entered spring training competing for an infield spot on the Brewers' roster, and he has made a strong case thus far, hitting three homers and posting a 3:3 BB:K over his first six exhibition contests. Should Brosseau break camp with the big club, expect him to see the bulk of his at-bats against southpaws, against whom he hit .274 last season and posted an .822 OPS over the last three campaigns.
