Caleb Boushley - Optioned to St. Paul The Twins optioned Boushley to Triple-A St. Paul after Tuesday's game against Atlanta, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
Impact Boushley was selected from Triple-A ahead of Tuesday's contest, during which he threw two shutout innings, and he'll now head back to the minors in order to clear space for Michael Tonkin, who was claimed off waivers from the Yankees. The 30-year-old Boushley will keep his spot on the 40-man roster, however, leaving open the possibility of a return to Minneapolis before the end of the season.

Impact After pushing Trevor Richards off the 40-man roster, the Twins will now call upon Boushley to fill the open spot in their bullpen. The right-hander is dealing with a Grade 2 teres major strain and could potentially be available if the Twins make the postseason but a previous timeline of "weeks to months" doesn't provide much clarity. The transaction, along with Trevor Richards' DFA, opens up spots for Michael Tonkin and Caleb Boushley on the 40-man and 26-man rosters, respectively.

Michael Tonkin - Heads back to Minnesota The Twins claimed Tonkin off waivers from the Yankees on Tuesday, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.
Impact It will be the third overall stint with the Twins and second this season for Tonkin, who made one appearance for Minnesota back in April before being booted from the 40-man roster. Tonkin had allowed eight runs over his final 7.2 innings with the Yankees but pitched well for them on the whole with a 3.37 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 57:21 K:BB in 56 innings. He'll be used in middle relief by Minnesota.

Bailey Ober - Smoked by Atlanta Ober (12-6) yielded nine runs on seven hits and two walks over two innings while taking a loss against Atlanta on Monday. He struck out two batters.
Impact Ober was tagged with a three-run shot by Matt Olson in the first inning and a two-run homer by Travis d'Arnaud in the second. Entering Monday's start, Ober had given up nine total runs over his previous six outings, going 4-0 with a 2.02 ERA during that span.
