Timmy Lopes - Sent to minor-league camp Lopes was reassigned to minor-league camp Sunday.

Impact Lopes served as a non-roster invitee this spring and performed well in Cactus League play, but he was unable to land a spot on the Padres' Opening Day roster. After hitting .360 with a home run, nine RBI, eight runs and six stolen bases over 22 spring games this year, he should be in the mix to be called up if the Padres need depth at some point.

Brandon Dixon - Optioned to Triple-A Dixon was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Sunday.

Impact Dixon's contract was selected by the Padres late in the 2022 campaign, but he'll begin this season in the minors. He slashed .371/.447/.8666 with 13 homers, 32 RBI, 24 runs and three stolen bases over 25 games at the Triple-A level last year, and he'll be a candidate to be called up if the Padres need additional depth at some point this year.

Austin Nola - On track to play Monday Padres manager Bob Melvin said Nola (hand/nose) is slated to play in Monday's Cactus League finale versus the Rockies, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

Impact Nola had been expected to play Sunday versus the Mariners, but the Padres decided to err on the side of caution and hold him out for the day after he took a foul ball off his left (non-catching) hand while playing in a minor-league contest Saturday. The backstop had already been recovering from a fractured nose stemming from being hit in the face by a pitch March 19, but neither injury looks as though it'll prevent him from being ready to go for Opening Day. Impact Martinez served up a homer to the first batter he faced (Ezequiel Duran) in the outing, but the hurler gave up only one more run after that. Robert Suarez - Likely to begin year on IL Suarez is likely to begin the season on the injured list because of arm stiffness and joint inflammation, Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Impact An MRI revealed no structural damage for Suarez, but the right-hander hasn't been able to throw since March 12, and he's unlikely to be ready for the regular season.
