Rangel Ravelo - Reassigned to MiLB camp Ravelo was reassigned to minor-league camp by the Padres on Friday.
Impact The 30-year-old first baseman slashed .276/.405/.448 in the spring and will return to Triple-A, where he boasted a 1.262 OPS in 2021. If Ravelo can maintain a similar level of success in the minors, there's a solid chance he returns to the big leagues at some point this season.

Ray Kerr - Optioned to Triple-A The Padres optioned Kerr to Triple-A El Paso on Friday.
Impact Kerr spent most of last season in El Paso as well, logging a 5.08 ERA and 1.84 WHIP in 44.1 innings. He was able to limit runs a bit better during the spring, but allowing seven hits and four walks over 4.2 innings indicates there is plenty of work yet to be done for the 28-year-old lefty.

Impact The wrist issue is evidently something that usually bothers Bogaerts during spring training and isn't considered to be a big deal. The plan is for the shortstop to rest for two days before return to play the final two Cactus League games ahead of Opening Day.

Adam Engel - Headed to IL with hamstring injury Engel is expected to begin the season on the injured list due to a hamstring injury he suffered Thursday, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Impact Engel dealt with a calf strain early on in camp and has been plagued by hamstring problems the last few years. It's not clear at this point how long this one might sideline him, but he might have been in line for some playing time early with Fernando Tatis (suspension) unavailable for the first few weeks and Juan Soto (oblique) potentially sidelined as well.
