Impact The right-hander's 16th save of the year wasn't all that sweet, but he was able to strike out Harold Castro with the bases loaded to preserve the lead. Barlow has rarely made mistakes on the mound with a 2.49 ERA across 72.1 innings. He's added a 1.22 WHIP and 89:28 K:BB while logging 16 saves and 14 holds in 69 appearances. He should end the year as the head of Kansas City's closer committee.

Impact Barlow had a few command-related issues and aside from issuing multiple walks for the first time since July 8, he only tossed 10 of his 23 pitches for strikes. He found a way to get the job done, however, and he's now closed the door in each of his last five save chances. He has gone 13-for-19 in save opportunities this season but still owns a career-best 2.34 ERA through 66 appearances (69.1) innings.
