Luis Castillo - Takes tough-luck loss Castillo (4-3) yielded one run on five hits and a walk over seven innings Friday, striking out six and taking a loss against Texas.
Impact Castillo fired five shutout frames before finally coughing up a run in the sixth. The Mariners were shut out, resulting in him taking his first loss since May 16. He's posted a 24:5 K:BB while giving up just one run over his last three starts. Castillo had allowed 12 earned runs over his previous three outings and now owns 2.55 ERA. He's lined up to face the Angels on the road next week.

Bryan Woo - Set for MLB debut Saturday Woo is set to be called up and draw the start Saturday versus the Rangers, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact With Marco Gonzales (forearm) being skipped in the rotation, Woo will jump straight from Double-A Arkansas to the big leagues Saturday. The 23-year-old has compiled an impressive 2.05 ERA and 0.89 WHIP with 59 strikeouts over 44 innings in nine starts with Arkansas this season. Woo was selected in the sixth round of 2021 MLB Draft and he'll join fourth-rounder Bryce Miller in making his major-league debut with Seattle in 2023.

Marco Gonzales - Undergoing testing on forearm Gonzales will undergo testing on his forearm and have his start skipped Saturday versus the Rangers, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Impact Gonzales felt some discomfort in his left forearm after his outing Sunday against the Pirates and will now reportedly be replaced on the mound Saturday by Bryan Woo, who's set to be called up from Double-A Arkansas for the start. Once the results of the testing on his forearm come to fruition, it's possible that Gonzales could be set for a stint on the injured list.
