Whiffs 12 in win Walker (6-2) picked up the win Tuesday after holding the Cubs to two runs on five hits and no walks while striking out 12 across seven innings.

Impact Walker's only blemish of the night came from a two-run homer by Javier Baez in the third inning. Otherwise the right-hander displayed impressive control, notching a career-high 12 strikeouts while not issuing any walks for the third time this year. Walker, who has been one of the best pitchers in the National League this season, has now allowed one run or fewer in six of his last seven starts, lowering his ERA to 2.12 and his WHIP to 1.00. The 28-year-old is slated to take the mound again on the road Sunday at Washington.

Dominant against Baltimore Walker (5-2) earned the win Wednesday against the Orioles after tossing seven innings of one-run ball, giving up five hits and a walk while fanning nine.

Impact Walker had gone three straight outings without pitching more than five complete innings, but he was lights out in this one and tamed the Orioles with ease. The right-hander has now allowed one or fewer runs in five of his last six starts and has reduced his ERA to an impressive 2.07 as a result. He will attempt to carry this strong run of form into his next start, scheduled for next week at home against the Cubs.

Impact Walker dropped a decision for the first time since April 20 and didn't have his best stuff, as he had more walks than strikeouts for the first time this season while also tying his season-worst mark in runs allowed. The command issues have been quite a problem for Walker this year, as he owns a 3.8 BB/9 that would rank as the second-worst mark of his career if not improved the rest of the year. He's scheduled to start next week against the Orioles on the road.
