Impact The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the signing of Hoby Milner. White was arguably the Rangers' top pitching prospect two years ago, but his stuff and results have backed up since then. He spent most of the 2024 season at Triple-A Round Rock, holding a 5.64 ERA and 87:48 K:BB over 99 innings. White is still just 25, so there could be interest via trade or waivers.

Hoby Milner - Headed to Texas The Rangers signed Milner to a one-year deal Thursday, Mark Feinsand of MLB.com reports.
Impact Milner will head to Texas after spending the last four seasons with the Brewers, most recently producing a 4.73 ERA and 1.19 WHIP with 64 strikeouts over 64.2 innings in 61 appearances with Milwaukee in 2024. The left-hander is just one season removed from a 2023 campaign in which he had an impressive 1.82 ERA and 0.96 WHIP with 59 punchouts over 64.1 innings in 73 appearances with the Brewers and he'll look to get back closer to that form in 2025 with the Rangers.

Cooper Johnson - Invited to spring training Johnson received a spring training invite from the Rangers on Thursday.
Impact Johnson has played in the minors since 2019 and has been at Double-A Frisco since 2023. In Frisco, he has slashed .230/.348/.464 with 14 home runs across 311 plate appearances since he was elevated there. The 26-year-old has now received his second career spring training invite after last receiving one from Detroit in 2020.

Impact Heuer was not able to pitch in 2024 due to a fractured right elbow he suffered in 2023. He was only able to pitch in 12.2 inning during 2023 and he allowed 11 earned runs in his shortened season. The right-hander made his last MLB appearances in 2021, when he pitched for both Chicago teams. The veteran recorded a 4.28 ERA and 1.31 WHIP across 61.1 innings that season. Impact Biggers has played in the minor leagues since 2018, when he was drafted by Rangers in the eighth round of the MLB draft. He has slashed .255/.345/.702 for his career, which has included every level of the minors. In 2024, the infielder slashed .275/.390/.772 across 364 at-bats for Triple-A Round Rock. The 27-year-old now gets his first invite to spring training after playing his first full season at the Triple-A level.

Alan Trejo - Gets deal from TEX Trejo signed a minor-league contract with the Rangers on Thursday and received an invitation to spring training.
Impact In 67 big-league plate appearances with the Rockies last year, Trejo managed just a .325 OPS and one RBI -- by far his worst offensive season in the majors. He bounced back after signing a minor-league deal with the Dodgers, slashing .265/.346/.408 with 24 RBI and five stolen bases, but there is still little hope for him to get back to the big leagues with Texas.

Impact Semien, who is entering his age-34 season, has missed just four regular-season games in three years with the Rangers. Bochy said Wednesday he's discussed the idea of more off time with Semien and also broached moving him around the batting order; the second baseman has been Texas' primary leadoff hitter since signing with the club in 2022.
