ImpactHe's not being eased in in the designated hitter spot, either, starting in right field and batting third against Shawn Dubin and the Astros. Marte required core muscle surgery in November to address separated tendons on both sides of his groin, but his rehab has gone well and he's expected to be ready for Opening Day.

ImpactAlmonte will be held out of action Friday as a precaution, but it's not considered to be a serious issue. The journeyman outfielder has gone 7-for-14 so far in Grapefruit League play, though he sits far on the outside for an Opening Day roster spot in Queens even at 100 percent health.
