Impact Javier Baez (thumb) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, and it seems likely that Castro will join the major-league club to provide depth at shortstop. Even if the 24-year-old is ultimately called up, Harold Castro should serve as the Tigers' primary shortstop in Baez's absence.

Impact Castro batted .296 with four extra-base hits and five runs over 27 at-bats this spring, but he'll start the year in Triple-A. With his ability to play almost all the positions on the field, the 24-year-old will likely rejoin the big-league club relatively soon.
