Impact The tough season continued for the Daytona 500 winner. Cindric would race in the mid-field for most of the first stage. However, on lap 88 the Penske Racing youngster would get out of shape and make contact with the wall setting off a three-car incident. Cindric's machine would get heavy, but repairable damage. Unfortunately, the No. 2 team could not repair the car before the damage clock expired and Cindric would be retired for the day on the damaged vehicle policy. The DNF was his second of the season.
