Wins YellaWood 500 Wallace won the YellaWood 500 NASCAR Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway Monday afternoon.

Impact The race was delayed from Sunday due to weather, but the rescheduled event would still face challenges. Three major accidents would slow the pace and then rain would return to the speedway. Wallace would use good moves in the closing laps of stage 2 to climb into the lead. He would get around Kurt Busch and lead the final 5 laps before the final caution flag of the day. A multi-car crash coupled with rain would bring the action to an end and Wallace would be declared the winner at lap 117. It was his first-career win in his 143rd series start.

Impact Wallace would be the lone Toyota driver to crack the Top 10 Saturday night at Daytona. He used good speed and good moves to get inside the Top 10 late. More importantly, Wallace would navigate the two big accidents coming to the finish. That would be the 23XI driver's best move of the night because it would secure his season-best third-place at Daytona. It was Wallace's second Top 5 of the season.
