They have called on competition development manager, Meendering, to fill in as crew chief for the reigning Cup Series champion. Wins Toyota/Save Mart 350 Pole Larson won the pole for the Toyota / Save Mart 350 NASCAR Cup Series race at Sonoma Raceway Saturday afternoon. He turned a fast lap of 92.111 mph.

Impact Larson led the lone practice session for this Sunday's race at Sonoma Raceway. He would carry that good speed into pole qualifying Saturday afternoon. The Hendrick Motorsports star edged Chase Elliott to capture the top starting spot at the California road course. It was Larson's second pole position of the season and 12th of his career. He'll be a major threat to win the Toyota/Save Mart 350.
