Fifth-Place in GEICO 500 DiBenedetto finished fifth in the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway Sunday afternoon.
Impact The Wood Brothers Racing veteran had a great shot at victory lane Sunday at Talladega. DiBenedetto led 28 total laps and took the stage 1 victory. The driver of the No. 21 Ford would be in the lead in the closing laps but a late caution for debris would force NASCAR overtime. DiBenedetto would take the green in the lead and hold it for the white flag, but he couldn't hold off the strong No. 2 Ford of Brad Keselowski. DiBenedetto would surrender the lead on the last lap and would be shuffled back to a fifth-place finish. It was his first Top-5 finish of the season and seventh-career Top 5.

Bumped to rear of field DiBenedetto will roll off near the rear of the field Monday due to unapproved adjustments, per a release from NASCAR.
Impact DiBenedetto was originally scheduled to start 12th on Monday but will take a fantasy value hit right out of the gate in terms of position differential because of the move to the back of the field. His lap times varied between the two practices but his best laps sat top-20 in both, so there's a chance he could eventually work his way back up to that range.
