'Race Hub' tackles breaking down brakes at Martinsville

Published Mar. 30, 2017 9:46 a.m. ET

If there is one thing we know about racing on the demanding .526-mile short track that is Martinsville Speedway, it's that brakes are important.

As in you don't want to use too much of them too often, or you'll use them up.

But if you don't use enough of them, you might just find yourself running into something -- or someone. And that's not good, either.

So how do the drivers in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series and the Camping World Truck Series handle the dilemma?

Watch the video above to find out, as the "NASCAR Race Hub" crew breaks down everything there is to know about brakes at the paper clip.

Then put what you learned to good use by watching this Saturday's Alpha Energy Solutions 250 truck race (live on FOX, with pre-race coverage beginning at 2:30 p.m. ET) and Sunday's STP 500 Monster Energy race (pre-race coverage begins at 12:30 p.m. ET on FS1).
