After halftime, he made all but one of his nine field-goal attempts, including his first five shots. He averaged 21.2 shots per game over the previous four seasons but has yet to take more than 18 attempts over the year's first eight contests.

Impact Although Beal reached the 20-point mark for the fourth time this season, he had another poor shooting display and the inconsistencies continue to plague him. Even though he's made 50.9 percent of his shots this season, that figure falls to 32.4 percent in his last two outings. His role as Washington's top scoring threat is not under question, and the consistency issues shouldn't affect his fantasy status going forward.

Awful shooting Sunday Beal tallied 12 points (4-16 FG, 2-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), eight assists, a rebound, a steal and a block in 37 minutes in a 112-94 loss Sunday in Boston.
Impact Beal missed his first 12 shots and was held scoreless in the first half. He finally drained a jumper with 1:04 remaining in the third and went 3-for-3 in the final quarter to salvage the outing. The 29-year-old averaged at least 18 shots per game in each of the last five seasons but is taking just 15 attempts per game through the season's first six contests. His usage as the season progresses is certainly something to monitor.

Impact Beal was limited by a back problem against the Pistons, but as expected, he was able to resume his full workload against the Pacers and responded with his best scoring output of the campaign. Even though Kyle Kuzma has been Washington's best scorer to begin the year, this is still Beal's team and he should be treated as the team's go-to offensive threat moving forward as long as he's healthy. Through five games, he's averaging 22.6 points while shooting an impressive 59.5 percent from the field.

Impact Beal dealt with a back injury throughout the game, and that should explain his low minute count, but the fact that he returned to action should quiet any concern with his health moving forward.
