Cam Thomas - Delivers team-high 17 points Thomas notched 17 points (5-13 FG, 2-8 3Pt, 5-8 FT), a rebound, two assists and a steal across 28 minutes in Wednesday's 117-95 preseason loss to the 76ers.
Impact Thomas wasn't as efficient as he's been in other preseason contests, but nonetheless, he continues to show he's ready for the start of the regular season. One of the most prolific pure scorers in The Association, Thomas will be the Nets' primary offensive weapon and should hover around the 20-point mark in most games. He's coming off a 2023-24 season in which he averaged a career-high 22.5 points per contest.

Cameron Johnson - Solid display Wednesday Johnson posted 11 points (4-11 FG, 3-9 3Pt), five rebounds and six assists across 28 minutes in Wednesday's 117-95 preseason loss to the 76ers.
Impact Johnson was one of six Brooklyn players who scored in double digits Wednesday, and one of the three starters who reached the 10-point threshold. Johnson is set to open the season as the Nets' starting small forward, and while the team is bound to struggle right out of the gate, Johnson could have decent fantasy upside with freedom to shoot and his ability to contribute in other categories, such as rebounds and assists.

Nic Claxton - Officially out Claxton (hamstring) has been ruled out for Wednesday's preseason game against the 76ers, Evan Barnes of Newsday reports.
Impact Coach Jordi Fernandez had previously said he'd like Claxton to play in at least one preseason game, and the big man's final chance will come Friday versus Toronto. Claxton's hamstring has been reported as minor, but it'd still be encouraging to see him get at least some work in before Brooklyn opens the regular season against the Hawks on Oct. 23.

Impact The Nets are being extremely cautious with Simmons due to his lengthy injury history, but it seems he'll be ready to start the regular season. Based on what the Nets have been showing in the preseason, Simmons could open the campaign in a starting role alongside Dennis Schroder in the backcourt. He made just 15 appearances for Brooklyn in 2023-24.

Impact Clowney is fighting for minutes in the frontcourt ahead of the regular-season opener against the Hawks on Oct. 23, and the big man has been delivering solid performances in the preseason. Clowney has a clear path at logging backup minutes behind Nic Claxton once the regular season begins, as both Trendon Watford and Day'Ron Sharpe, Clowney's most significant threats to earn playing time, are dealing with hamstring injuries and might not be available for the regular-season opener.

Impact Schroder has been playing alongside Ben Simmons in the backcourt in the preseason, and it wouldn't be surprising if the duo starts together on Opening Night against the Hawks on Oct. 23. Schroder made 80 appearances during the 2023-24 regular season while suiting for the Raptors and Nets, averaging 14.0 points, 6.1 assists and 3.0 rebounds across 31.1 minutes per contest.

Thomas will have a few more opportunities to get work in during the preseason Wednesday in Philly and Friday against the Raptors.
