However, in the wake of back-to-back trades, it's unclear what his role will be moving forward. The Pacers clearly view Duarte as a big part of their future, but when everyone's available, it's possible Indiana roles out a starting backcourt of Brogdon, Tyrese Haliburton and Buddy Hield, which would presumably shift Duarte back to the bench.

The situation worked out quite well for both the rookie and the team, as Duarte tied his career-best point total while leading the Pacers to an unexpected win in overtime. Duarte made an impact in other areas as well, grabbing seven boards and collecting three steals to reward fantasy managers and DFS players who put him in their lineup Thursday. He'll likely return to a reserve role when Indiana's regular starters return, but Duarte has done enough this season to warrant a look in most fantasy formats, and he could see an increased role late in the campaign if the Pacers continue to fall out of contention for a play-in spot.

Impact Duarte had his shot working in this one, putting up his best scoring performance since the first game of the season. He scored a season-best 27 points Oct. 20 against Charlotte. Duarte's six assists were also his best mark since Dec. 16 against Detroit. He hasn't consistently put together these types of complete lines, but it's reassuring for fantasy managers to see him log 34 minutes, which is noticeably up from his season average of 28.7 minutes per contest (36 games). However, Duarte will likely see a slight decrease in playing time when Malcolm Brogdon (Achilles) is cleared to return.
