Impact After scoring is double figures in each of his first three appearances, McDaniels struggled to find an offensive rhythm Monday. The third-year forward is known for his defensive prowess, so his strong offensive start to the season was certainly encouraging. However, his offensive production will likely be sporadic during the 2022-23 campaign. Across four appearances (all starts), McDaniels has posted 11.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 1.8 steals, 1.0 blocks and 1.0 assists in 31.5 minutes per game.

Anthony Edwards - Woeful shooting performance Edwards finished with nine points (3-15 FG, 1-8 3Pt, 2-3 FT), 10 rebounds and two assists across 35 minutes during Monday's 115-106 loss to the Spurs.
Impact Edwards started the season slow with an 11-point game in the opener, and while many believed that was just an outlier considering he posted back-to-back 30-point outings in the subsequent two contests, the lack of efficiency and consistency is beginning to look worrisome even if it's been just four games. He's been either very good or very bad, and he will try to bounce back during the Timberwolves' rematch against the Spurs on Wednesday.

D'Angelo Russell - Comes close to double-double Russell had 25 points (8-16 FG, 3-6 3Pt, 6-6 FT), five rebounds, seven assists, one block and two steals in 31 minutes during Monday's 115-106 loss to San Antonio.
Impact Russell ended just three assists away from what would've been his first double-double of the season, and the electric point guard has delivered good numbers over the first week of the campaign. Russell has reached the 20-point mark in three of his four outings this season and has dished out at least six assists in each of his past three appearances as well. His role on offense is yet to be completely clear since he shares the court with Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards, but it's safe to say he's been performing better than initially expected, though four games is too small of a sample size to draw any definite conclusions.

Karl-Anthony Towns - Double-doubles against Spurs Towns contributed 27 points (9-17 FG, 2-6 3Pt, 7-7 FT), 11 rebounds and five assists in 39 minutes during Monday's 115-106 loss to the Spurs.
Impact Even though the double-double was a pleasant surprise for fantasy managers, Towns has been inconsistent to start the season with two 27-point efforts and two games in which he couldn't surpass the 15-point plateau. Aside from that, the shooting just hasn't been there even if Monday's game was a step in the right direction. Through four outings, he's only made 41 percent of his shots and 31.8 percent of his three-point attempts.
