Impact Nowell has been a regular presence off the bench for the Timberwolves in each of the last three seasons and that's not going to change here, especially since this is the most stacked roster Minnesota has had since the former Washington standout entered the league. He might be prone to deliver some good performances from time to time, but Nowell shouldn't be counted as a regular fantasy contributor going forward.

Impact It wouldn't be surprising if Russell ends up as a secondary offensive option for the Timberwolves since he'll be sharing the court with the likes of Karl-Anthony Towns, Anthony Edwards and even Rudy Gobert, but that wasn't the case in the season opener as he delivered a strong performance. If healthy, he should be a strong fantasy option regardless of the format as the main playmaker in one of the most improved teams in the Western Conference.

Impact Both Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns (12 points in 36 minutes) were uncharacteristically quiet Wednesday, as Rudy Gobert (23 points, 16 boards) and D'Angelo Russell (20 points) -- along with Jaden McDaniels (19 points) -- did much of the heavy lifting offensively. Don't expect Edwards to struggle from the field to this degree very often -- the third-year guard is the odds-on favorite to win the Most Improved Player award for a reason.

Impact While Towns produced a decent overall stat line, headlined by the seven assists, he took only 10 shots and did not add any defensive numbers in 36 minutes of action. It's possible that it'll take Towns a bit to adjust to playing alongside Rudy Gobert, so the former's fantasy numbers will be worth watching closely over the next few games. Gobert finished his Wolves debut with 23 points, 16 boards, two assists, one block and one steal in 34 minutes.
