Kristaps Porzingis - Unlikely to be shut down for season Coach Wes Unseld said Monday that Porzingis (knee) is unlikely to be shut down for the rest of the season, Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington reports. Impact Porzingis has yet to debut for the Wizards since coming over from Dallas at the trade deadline and has only appeared in eight of his last 27 contests due to a lingering bone bruise in his right knee. Despite his lengthy absence, the big man is still being described as day-to-day by the Wizards, but that's been the case for several weeks now and there hasn't been much progress. The latest update from Washington was that the sharpshooter had progressed to going through one-on-one work during recent practices, but there hasn't been any mention of full-court or contact work being done, which he would presumably have to do before being cleared for game action. Given the Wizards' position in the Eastern Conference, there doesn't appear to be any immediate need to rush the seven-footer back, but he's still expected to debut for his new team before the season is over.
