Impact Justin Fields (groin) is expected to play, but Dalton nonetheless figures to play most or all of the first half, presumably gearing up for the team's Week 1 start. While the rookie figures to take over at some point, Nagy still seems to be prepping 33-year-old Dalton for September.

Impact Dalton played two drives, both three-and-outs. Rookie QB Justin Fields then went three-and-out on his first three series before putting up 17 points (with an eight-yard rushing TD and 30-yard passing TD) over his final four drives. Coach Matt Nagy has been clear about viewing Dalton as his Week 1 starter, but Fields hasn't wasted any time building his case to take over sooner than later. Both quarterbacks figure to take snaps in Chicago's second preseason game Aug. 21 against the Bills.

Impact It sounds like Dalton will play one or two drives, depending on what happens with the first. Meanwhile, rookie Justin Fields is scheduled for far more playing time, likely replacing Dalton in the first/second quarter and then playing into the second half.
