Houston's offense is hamstrung by an inconsistent running attack, and the integration of new weapons like Cooks has not gone as planned. Deshaun Watson told Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle that the Vikings schemed to eliminate Cooks. "I mean, it was the scheme of Minnesota," Watson said of Cooks' lack of involvement. He battled a quadriceps injury throughout the practice week and has been on the injury report all season, so perhaps it's holding him back to some degree. Cooks will look to get back on track in Week 4 against the Vikings, who have allowed five total passing touchdowns and an average of 299.3 passing yards per game this year.

Impact Cooks has been hampered by a quad injury each of the first three weeks of the season, only to be available for game days. In the Texans' first two contests, he posted a combined seven catches (on 13 targets) for 115 yards. That said, when he logged 90 percent of the snaps on offense this past weekend against the Ravens, Cooks put up a healthy 5-95-0 line on eight targets. He'll aim to have similar success this weekend against a Steelers defense that has given up 13.7 YPC to wide receivers in 2020.

Impact Limited work in practice has become the norm for Cooks, who is still trying to shake off the quad injury that's bothered him since training camp. The quad issue hasn't stopped Cooks from playing both of the Texans' games to date, and he took an encouraging step forward Week 2 by playing 90 percent of the offensive snaps and finishing with five receptions for 95 yards on eight targets in Houston's loss to Baltimore. Assuming his limitations in practice are precautionary rather than indicative of a setback, Cooks should again be cleared to start and handle a heavy snap load Sunday in Pittsburgh.
