Impact Winters has appeared in 89 contests (79 starts) with the Jets over the last seven seasons, so the fact that the team felt pressed to bring in a seasoned veteran such as Van Roten during the offseason could be a hint the soon-to-be 29-year-old will enter training camp as the underdog to start.
