Travis Homer - Officially placed on IR The Bears placed Homer (finger) on injured reserve Saturday, Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Impact Homer popped up on the Bears' injury report Thursday due to a finger injury, which was severe enough to necessitate a surgical procedure. The 2019 sixth-round pick will now be forced to miss at least four games, and the earliest he can return will be against the Commanders in Week 8. 2023 fourth-round pick Roschon Johnson, who was a healthy scratch for Week 1 against the Titans, will now serve as the Bears' No. 3 running back behind D'Andre Swift and Khalil Herbert while Homer is sidelined.

Collin Johnson - Elevated for second time The Bears elevated Johnson from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday, Scott Bair of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Impact Johnson was elevated for the Bears' Week 2 loss to the Texans, during which he played seven snaps (one on offense, six on special teams). If he's active for Sunday's game against the Colts, Johnson will likely be limited to special teams even with veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen (heel) ruled out for a second straight week.

Impact Homer wasn't on Wednesday's injury report, so it's not clear when or how he picked up the injury. Depending on the severity of it, the 26-year-old would likely be able to play through it; however, more clarity on his status for Sunday's game against the Colts won't likely come until Friday.

Rome Odunze - Stays limited Thursday Odunze (knee) was limited in practice Thursday.

Impact Odunze now has a pair of capped sessions under his belt this week, which is one more than he managed during Week 2 prep before he was able to suit up this past Sunday in Houston. With Keenan Allen (heel) sidelined for that contest, Odunze earned 66 of 70 offensive snaps, but the huge workload didn't amount to much for him in the box score (two catches for 33 yards on five targets). Allen hasn't practiced this week and thus seems to be trending toward another absence Sunday at Indianapolis, so Odunze would be in line for another key spot in the Bears' receiving corp this weekend, assuming he's active.

Keenan Allen - No practice Thursday Allen (heel) didn't participate in practice Thursday.

Impact Allen was listed with a heel injury during Week 1 prep but still suited up in the Bears' season-opening win against the Titans, turning 11 targets into four catches for 29 yards. Since then, he hasn't logged any practice reps and also didn't play Week 2 at Houston. As such, Allen may need to mix into drills Friday to give him a chance to be available Sunday in Indianapolis.
