Keenan Allen - Given rest day to manage heel issue Coach Matt Eberflus said Wednesday that Allen (heel) will get a rest day at practice, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Allen appears to still be dealing with the heel injury he initially picked up mid-August, and he briefly went into the injury tent mid-game Week 1, but his absence from Wednesday's practice is officially being labeled a rest day. Eberflus said the Bears will further evaluate the veteran wideout Thursday. Meanwhile, rookie wideout Rome Odunze (knee) is considered day-to-day due to an MCL sprain, and Colleen Kane of The Chicago Tribune reports that DJ Moore also made a stop in the injury tent Week 1, but like Allen he was able to retake the field.

Rome Odunze - Labeled day-to-day Coach Matt Eberflus said Wednesday that Odunze (knee) will not practice and is considered day-to-day, Courtney Cronin of ESPN.com reports.

Impact Odunze was initially reported to be week-to-week due to an MCL sprain suffered in Chicago's season-opening win over the Titans, but Eberflus is now offering a more encouraging estimation of the rookie's recovery timeframe. Meanwhile, veteran wideout Keenan Allen (heel) is receiving a rest day Wednesday and will be evaluated further Thursday. Allen dealt with a heel injury in August and briefly entered the medical tent Week 1, but he was able to retake the field. If either or both of Odunze and Allen are in any way limited Sunday versus the Texans, DeAndre Carter and Velus Jones could be asked to step into larger roles behind DJ Moore.
