Impact Powell was selected by Kansas City in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft but passed through waivers unclaimed after he failed to land a spot on the 53-man roster. He recorded 882 yards and seven touchdowns in his final season at Clemson and will remain with the Chiefs as part of the team's initial practice squad.

Impact Powell was selected in the fifth round of this year's draft, which Goldman suggests may not prevent him from being a roster casualty if things don't pick up. That being said, it's still fairly early in camp and there is plenty of time for things to change. At the very least, Powell doesn't appear to be in a good spot to earn many reps as a rookie and may be competing just to hang on to a roster spot instead.
