Mixed bag against Bengals Bellinger caught two of three targets for 10 yards in Sunday's 25-22 preseason win over the Bengals.
Impact On the bright side, Bellinger got the start and seems to be the top option on New York's tight end depth chart. The fourth-round pick out of San Diego State made a rookie mistake in this one, though, as he had a catchable pass from starting quarterback Daniel Jones bounce off his hands and into those of Bengals safety Daxton Hill for an interception. That miscue aside, Bellinger looks set to play a prominent role out of the gate, though it's worth noting that he never totaled more than 357 receiving yards in a season in college.

Catches pass from backup QB Bellinger caught his only target for five yards in Thursday's 23-21 preseason win over the Patriots.
Impact Bellinger was listed atop the tight end depth chart heading into the preseason opener, but Daniel Jones didn't look his way during the starting quarterback's two drives of action, as the only pass thrown Bellinger's way came from backup quarterback Tyrod Taylor. Bellinger will look to make more of an impact in New York's second preseason game Aug. 21 against Cincinnati, as Ricky Seals-Jones (undisclosed) and Jordan Akins remain hot on his heels for playing time at tight end.

Working as No. 1 tight end Bellinger has been getting the clear majority of first-team work at tight end during camp, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.
Impact Bellinger spent some time on the PUP list in late July, but he's since recovered from a quadriceps issue and may have worked his way into the lead role at tight end for New York to begin his rookie season. Ricky Seals-Jones initially was thought to be the slight favorite to top the depth chart at the position, but he's missed the entire past week of practice with an undisclosed issue. Should Bellinger secure the No. 1 TE role, he'd be an interesting target in fantasy given the team's potential offensive growth in head coach Brian Daboll's new system.

Comes off PUP list The Giants activated Bellinger (quadriceps) from the PUP list Wednesday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.
Impact Bellinger was placed on the list just under a week ago with a quadriceps issue, but he appears to be ready to return to practice as training camp gets underway. The 21-year-old is in line to get consideration for the starting role at tight end after he was selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. He'll compete with Ricky Seals-Jones and Jordan Akins for work at the position.

Impact Rookies reported for New York's training camp Tuesday, so Bellinger may have sustained his quad injury in the interval since. The 2022 fourth-round pick worked predominantly with the first team during spring practices, and he appears to have a legitimate shot at securing the No. 1 role in the Giants' tight end room. Of course, if Bellinger misses a substantial amount of practices time due to injury this offseason, his chances of starting could significantly dip.
