Impact The Giants attempted only 20 passes Sunday, and most were shot throws to the running backs and tight ends. Slayton will be in the mix after the bye, but with Kenny Golladay, Kadarius Toney and Evan Engram healthy, and Sterling Shepard potentially coming back, Slayton's ceiling is modest.

Set to retain starting role Slayton is expected to remain in a top-three role at receiver Sunday against the Raiders, joining Kenny Golladay and Kadarius Toney, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.

Impact No. 1 receiver Golladay is back in action after a three-game absence due to a hyperextended knee, but the absence of Sterling Shepard (quadriceps) should create room in the startling lineup for both Toney and Slayton. Though Slayton entered the season ahead of Toney in the pecking order, that may have changed with the rookie have flashed big-play potential in recent weeks. Slayton could thus be a candidate to lose out on some reps if Shepard is ready to go following a Week 10 bye.

Slayton will look to get back on track in Week 9 against the Raiders, especially if Kenny Golladay (knee) remains out and Sterling Shepard (quadriceps) can't go.

Impact Slayton led the team in both targets and receiving yards in the absence of Kadarius Toney (ankle), Sterling Shepard (hamstring) and Kenny Golladay (knee). Given the game script, the Giants didn't need to push the ball much through the air, which in turn limited the potential for him to turn in a big game. Nevertheless, he recorded four receptions of 15 or more yards to serve as the team's primary threat down the field. Slayton's potential to produce moving forward likely depends on the rest of the Giants' receiving corps heading into a Week 8 matchup against Kansas City.
