That's a notion echoed by coach Nathaniel Hackett, though Wilson will likely need to practice fully by the end of the week in order to avoid an injury designation ahead of Sunday's 9:30 AM ET kickoff in London.

Tom Compton - Designated for return The Broncos announced Wednesday that Compton (back) has been designated for a return from the PUP list, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.

Impact Compton started the year on the reserve/PUP list due to an offseason back procedure, but he's now ready to begin his 21-day practice window. When fully healthy, Compton will likely contribute as a reserve option along Denver's offensive line.

Impact Wilson also practiced on a limited basis leading up to Week 7, when he was ultimately inactive for the Broncos' loss to the Jets while Brett Rypien picked up the start under center. According to Troy Renck of Denver 7 News, Wilson displayed more mobility during the open portion of Wednesday's practice than he had at any point last week, so he appears to have made some progress even if his "limited" listing represents no tangible change. Head coach Nathaniel Hackett said that Wilson is trending toward a Week 8 return, but the Broncos may still need to monitor how the quarterback's left hamstring looks during practice the next three days before a determination is made on his status for Sunday's game against the Jaguars in London.

Eric Tomlinson - Minimal involvement in loss Tomlinson caught both of his targets for 21 yards in Sunday's 16-9 loss to the Jets.

Impact Tomlinson operated as the Broncos' No. 2 tight end in the contest, playing 35 of the team's offensive snaps while starter Greg Dulcich played 47 snaps. The 30-year-old's two targets, two catches and 21 yards were all season highs for the veteran. Though the Broncos tight end room is a bit crowded, it appears the only player with real fantasy value going forward is Dulcich. The rookie played the most snaps at the position Sunday and saw nine targets in the game. With that said, Tomlinson should remain far off the fantasy radar when the Broncos square off against the Jaguars in Week 8.

K.J. Hamler - Catches one pass in loss Hamler caught one of four targets for four yards and carried the ball once for 14 yards in Sunday's 16-9 loss to the Jets.

Impact Hamler had another underwhelming outing for fantasy purposes, as quarterback Brett Rypien struggled to get the passing game going despite attempting 46 passes in the contest. Denver's offense has struggled to sustain long drives and put points on the board this season with Russell Wilson (hamstring), and Sunday was no different with a new signal caller at the helm. Hamler's four targets were his most of the season, but it's difficult to trust that his production will begin to climb substantially unless the offense starts to find its rhythm. With no signs of that at the moment, the 23-year-old wideout should remain off the fantasy radar. Wilson is trending toward a return in Week 8, so maybe he can provide a much needed spark when the Broncos take on the Jaguars in London. However, it's more likely that Hamler fails to find success outside of a big play or two, making him a risky start as Denver's No. 3 receiver.

Latavius Murray - Hits pay dirt in loss Murray rushed eight times for 24 yards and a touchdown while catching two of three targets for minus-1 yard in Sunday's 16-9 loss to the Jets.

Impact Murray took a backseat to fellow running back Melvin Gordon in Week 7, playing 31 of the Broncos' 79 offensive snaps while Gordon was in on 40 snaps. With that said, the veteran accounted for Denver's only touchdown in the contest. Murray's decline in usage seemed inevitable after head coach Nathaniel Hackett said Melvin Gordon would start while Murray would have a role off the bench after the Broncos' barely used Gordon in Week 6. Though it's difficult to predict how what the backfield split will look like going forward, it's important to note that fellow back Mike Boone was placed on injured reserve Monday after suffering an ankle injury Sunday. This should open up opportunities for both Murray and Gordon. The 32-year-old will look to improve upon his performance with a Week 8 matchup against the Jaguars.

Brandon McManus - Misses two kicks McManus missed one of his two field-goal attempts as well as his only extra-point try in Sunday's 16-9 loss to the Jets.

Impact McManus failed on a PAT to begin the day, then went wide right on a 56-yard attempt with his next kick. Although he subsequently rallied with a 44-yard make, it wasn't the veteran's best performance, as Denver suffered a close defeat at home.

Impact Dulcich was active for his second career game and remained entrenched as Denver's top tight end. He finished tied with Courtland Sutton for second on the team with nine targets and was only out-gained only by Jerry Jeudy. Dulcich worked almost exclusively in short areas of the field, though he did manage a 16-yard reception late in the fourth quarter. He could lose some targets when Russell Wilson (hamstring) is able to return, but Dulcich appears to have quickly integrated himself into the Denver offense.

Brett Rypien - Can't get offense on track Rypien completed 24 of 46 passes for 225 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 16-9 loss to the Jets.

Impact Rypien earned his second career start in the absence of Russell Wilson (hamstring), though the Broncos showed no signs of curtailing their passing volume. He started the game in promising fashion by leading Denver to a touchdown on its third offensive possession, though that was the majority of the scoring for the team on the day. Despite averaging only 4.9 yards per attempt, Rypien also managed to keep his primary pass catchers involved, as Jerry Jeudy earned 11 targets and Courtland Sutton nine. Wilson is optimistic that he'll return for a Week 8 matchup against the Jaguars, and if that's the case, Rypien will revert to his backup role.

Melvin Gordon III - Leads backfield split against Jets Gordon rushed the ball 11 times for 33 yards in Sunday's 16-9 loss to the Jets. He added two receptions for 17 yards.

Impact As promised by coach Nathaniel Hackett, Gordon both started and led the Broncos' backfield against the Jets. However, he only out-touched Latavius Murray 13-10 and was also off the field during the team's only touchdown drive of the game. While Gordon may be the starter in name, Denver's backfield appears to be a near even split between Gordon and Murray. If the offense continues to struggle, neither back is likely to produce at a significant clip.

Sutton has seen at least seven targets in all but one of seven games this season and had produced relatively consistently until the last two contests when he's combined to post only 37 yards.
