Impact Gordon was limited in practices Thursday and Friday, but the running back's hip issue doesn't look as though it will prevent him from continuing to share backfield work with rookie Javonte Williams. Confirmation of Gordon's Week 6 status will arrive once Denver's inactive list is posted in advance of Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

Impact Ford's move to short-term IR is a corresponding roster move as running back Mike Boone (quad) comes off IR and is activated on the 53-man roster. The 26-year-old cornerback suffered a knee injury in Week 5 and was already ruled out for the Broncos' Week 6 matchup against the Raiders. The majority of Ford's snaps have come on special teams, so his absence should not have much of an impact on Denver's defensive scheme.

John Brown - Elevated to active roster Brown was elevated to the active roster Saturday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Impact Coach Vic Fangio essentially confirmed this designation was coming as early as Friday. Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur also hinted Brown has a specific package of plays installed for him, which would seem to suggest the veteran pass catcher will be active ahead of Sunday's contest against his former team. The 31-year-old was arguably the most talented wide receiver still remaining without a roster, but with Jerry Jeudy (ankle) expected to return soon, it's hard to see Brown carving out a ton of playing time over the coming weeks.

Impact It'll be interesting to see how much playing time Boone syphons away from Melvin Gordon (hip) and Javonte Williams given the duo has operated in a 55-45 split to date. Signed this offseason as a change-of-pace option, Boone figures to be more of a reserve depth piece unless one of the aforementioned players suffers an injury.
