Set for expanded role Sanders figures to conclude the regular season as the Saints' No. 1 wideout with Michael Thomas (ankle) set to hit IR, Amie Just of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Impact Sanders is the favorite to officially serve as New Orleans' top wideout, but it's probably more realistic to project that he and Tre'Quan Smith will split the targets vacated by Thomas rather evenly, just as they did Weeks 2-5. If Thomas is indeed placed on IR it will rule him out for the final three games of the regular season. Drew Brees (ribs) is expected to return for Sunday's game against the high-powered Chiefs, and with Deonte Harris (neck) listed as questionable, both Sanders and Smith could immediately be primed for key offensive roles.

Impact Most of Sanders' production on the afternoon came via a 44-yard catch late in the second quarter, a play that was reversed in New Orleans' favor after Sanders was ruled on the field to have committed a fumble. The two-time Pro Bowler had just one catch for five yards last Sunday against the 49ers, so invested fantasy GMs will take production from Sanders any way they can get it. He was the second-busiest pass-catcher on the team Sunday, though he didn't muster even half the number of targets as Michael Thomas (12). Impact Sanders spent a couple of weeks on the reserve/COVID-19 list, but he was able to return just in time for a big division showdown against Tom Brady and the Buccaneers.
