Removed from NFI list Ruckert (foot) was activated from the non-football injury list Wednesday, Ethan Greenberg of the Jets' official site reports.

Impact Ruckert can now practice with the team after missing the start of training camp with a foot injury. The rookie is currently the No. 3 tight end on the Jets' depth chart, behind C.J. Uzomah and Tyler Conklin. Ruckert totaled 54 catches for 615 yards and 12 touchdowns in his time at Ohio State. The Jets' third-round pick in 2022 will now have a chance to prove himself in camp and compete for snaps moving forward.

Placed on NFI list The Jets placed Ruckert (foot) on the non-football injury list Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of ProFootballNetwork.com reports.

Impact Ruckert continues to recover from the foot injury that held him out of June minicamp. C.J. Uzomah (foot) also missed June team activities, while Tyler Conklin has remained healthy since inking with the Jets earlier this offseason. As long as Ruckert is able to return to full health at some point during training camp, he should get a chance to compete for snaps as a rookie.

Impact Neither did fellow tight end C.J. Uzomah, who reportedly was nursing a minor injury. Ruckert came to the Jets with a foot injury when they drafted him in the third round at the end of April, but he should have time to recover before training camp. Latest addition in New York The Jets selected Ruckert in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, 101st overall.

Impact New York picked up C.J. Uzomah in free agency, but Ruckert is a nice speculative add for the Jets. Ruckert was highly touted coming out of high school, but Ohio State's loaded receiving corps limited his opportunities to shine through the air, as he didn't have a 20-catch season until his senior year. He was unable to test at the combine due to a left foot injury, but Ruckert has a conventional tight-end frame at 6-foot-5 and 252 pounds. Ruckert may be blocked in terms of immediate playing time, but he could find a role in this offense by his second or third season.
