Impact Grugier-Hill played 98 percent of the Texans' defensive snaps during Sunday's loss to Denver, but he presumably picked up a neck injury as well. If he isn't upgraded to a full participant Thursday or Friday, he may be in danger of missing his first game of the season. He was the team's leading tackler last year and has 23 stops through two games this year, so his potential absence would be a huge blow to Houston's defense.

Impact Grugier-Hill was Houston's leading tackler in 2021, totaling a career-high 108 tackles, three sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception. He saw an increased role after Zach Cunningham was let go midseason and figures to be a vital piece of the Texans defense in 2022.

Impact Grugier-Hill finished the season with a team-high 108 tackles, which represents a career best for the linebacker, who signed a one-year deal with Houston after spending five seasons as largely a substitute in Philadelphia and Miami. He added three sacks, three passes defensed, one interception and two forced fumbles to his seasonal resume. His stock is on the rise at the right time; the 27-year-old becomes an unrestricted free agent in the upcoming offseason. He told Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle that he'd like to return while adding there's been team interest in having him back. After the team parted ways with Zach Cunningham midseason, it's likely the Texans make an effort to re-sign Grugier-Hill.
