Rashawn Slater - Will miss Thursday's game Coach Brandon Staley said Wednesday that Slater (illness) will be out for Thursday night's matchup against Kansas City, Jeff Miller of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Impact Staley also said that Trey Pipkins will play in place of Slater who has started every game so far this season. The rookie first-rounder was placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday after testing positive for the virus and was apparently unable to produce the two negative tests at least 24 hours apart required to return to the active roster. This will be a major loss along the Chargers' offensive line as they go up against a Chiefs pass rush that has averaged 3.3 sacks per game over their last three contests.
