Impact Ammendola was surprisingly busy despite his lack of field-goal attempts, as he was called upon to fill in as the punter after Braden Mann suffered a knee injury in the first quarter. The rookie kicker racked up 291 yards on six punts for a respectable average of 48.5 yards, but game score dictated that the Jets should go for two after both of their touchdowns. Ammendola will look to be more involved in his traditional kicking role against the Patriots in Week 2.

Impact Ammendola capped the opening drive with a make from 54 yards out, and he added successful attempts from 46 and 30 yards out in the third quarter. With Chris Naggar having been released by the Jets after his poor performance in the preseason opener, Ammendola is the only kicker currently with the team, and his strong showing here has likely solidified the Oklahoma State product's spot on the Week 1 roster barring an injury or a complete meltdown in the preseason finale against Philadelphia.
