Leki Fotu - Sidelined by hamstring issue Fotu will miss the remainder of training camp due to a hamstring injury, but he's expected to be ready to play in Week 1 of the regular season, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Impact Fotu tallied 22 defensive and five special-teams snaps in New York's first preseason game Aug. 10 versus the Commanders, but he missed the Jets' second exhibition contest Saturday and won't suit up in the team's preseason finale. The fifth-year pro is slated to play a rotational role along New York's defensive line while also contributing on special teams after signing with the team in March following four seasons with Arizona.

Impact Williams continues to bounce back from the ACL tear he suffered in his left knee in Week 3 last season, and participating in team drills will be a significant milestone for the wideout. As Week 1 approaches, however, it remains to be see what role the free-agent addition will handle early on, but once Williams is fully up to speed, he's on track to be a key component of the Jets passing game while working alongside top WR Garrett Wilson.

Jaylen Twyman - Signed by Gang Green The Jets signed Twyman to a contract Sunday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Impact The move comes with the Jets placing wide receiver Malik Taylor (undisclosed) on injured reserve. Twyman was a sixth-round selection by the Vikings in the 2021 NFL Draft, but he has not played a single NFL snap. He was part of Miami's training camp in 2023, but did not make the Dolphins' 53-man roster and was not invited to their practice squad. Twyman will compete for a depth spot on the Jets' defensive line behind starters Quinnen Williams (shoudler) and Javon Kinlaw.

Malik Taylor - Going on IR The Jets placed Taylor on injured reserve with an undisclosed issue Sunday, Zack Rosenblatt of The Athletic reports.
Impact Taylor sustained an injury at an early point in the Jets' training camp, according to Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site, though it's unclear exactly when or how this issue arose. The 28-year-old wideout appeared in three games while on the practice squad last year, collecting two of four targets for 13 yards. Taylor previously looked like he had a solid chance to earn a spot on the final 53-man roster this preseason, but he'll now be forced to sit out the entire 2024 campaign unless he is let go from the Jets' IR with an injury settlement.

Tyler Conklin - Yet to suit up in preseason Conklin didn't play in Saturday's 15-12 preseason win over the Panthers.
Impact Conklin has been rested thus far in the preseason along with the Jets' other starting skill players on offense. The Jets haven't gotten much production from the tight end position in Conklin's absence during the exhibition slate, so the 29-year-old tight end seems safely locked into the top spot on the depth chart heading into the 2024 regular season, which will commence after the Jets round out their preseason Aug. 24 against the Giants.

Impact Lazard is among numerous offensive players who have sat out the Jets' first two preseason games. Despite mustering a meager 311 receiving yards in 2023, Lazard is a lock to make the team in 2024, and the 28-year-old wide receiver is hoping that the return of Aaron Rodgers under center will elevate the entire offense. Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams (knee) are projected to open the season as starters on the outside with Lazard -- who had 788 yards and six touchdowns with Rodgers as his quarterback in Green Bay in 2022 -- in a bench role.

Malachi Corley - Two catches against Panthers Corley recorded two receptions on two targets for 10 yards in Saturday's 15-12 preseason win over the Panthers.
Impact The Jets sat all of their projected starters, leaving Corley to catch the team's first pass of the game from Andrew Peasley. Corley has had a solid exhibition season, tallying six catches for 37 yards while also working as one of the team's kick returners. Special teams could be the primary path for him to find the field at the start of the regular season, though Corley could challenge Xavier Gipson for snaps in the slot as the campaign progresses.

Israel Abanikanda - Appears buried on depth chart Abanikanda rushed the ball six times for 29 yards in Saturday's 15-12 preseason win over the Panthers.
Impact Abanikanda was relatively efficient with his opportunity Saturday, highlighted by a 12-yard gain to kick off the second half. However, he entered the game after both Isaiah Davis and Braelon Allen for the second consecutive week, suggesting he is currently fourth on the running back depth chart. That leaves him with little projectable volume out of the backfield.

His biggest gain of the day came on his opening carry, which went for nine yards. Davis was a strong receiver in his final two years at South Dakota State, a skillset that could help him see the field occasionally on obvious passing downs once the regular season begins.

He didn't show much ability as a receiver during his collegiate career at Wisconsin, but he was heavily involved in that role Saturday with mixed results. The list of players not expected to be in uniform includes QBs Aaron Rodgers and Tyrod Taylor, RB Breece Hall, WRs Xavier Gipson, Allen Lazard and Malik Taylor and TEs Tyler Conklin and Jeremy Ruckert. The team also held Wilson out of its preseason game and may not play him until Week 1.
